Wedding Bells

Anyone else waiting on Spring? I don't know about you but when I think of Spring, weddings, babies, and flowers all come to mind. Today I have a wedding themed card to share with you. This card features a bell image from Pickled Potpourri Designs' Brides stamp set. I colored the image with ProMarkers. I waited a few minutes and then applied some Goosebumps Texture Spray to the bells to give them a little shimmer. 

I keep a waterbrush filled with this spray, it applies very similarly to the clear Wink of Stella brush marker pen! It's far more economical compared the Wink of Stella pen, you can refill your waterbrush pen at least 4 to 5 times if not more using one bottle of this spray! I paid about $3 for the bottle using a 40% off coupon from Michaels.

The most noticeable difference between the Wink of Stella brush pen and the Goosebumps Texture Spray is that there is a much greater water content in the spray, so you have to be careful when applying it. I just give my waterbrush a good shake, squeeze a little of the spray on a non-stick craft mat, dab the tip of my brush on a paper towel, and then dip it into my spray puddle and then paint it on my image.

Sometimes the water brushes can be a little finicky and will release too much liquid when you squeeze it. Using this method will help you to control the amount of liquid released much more easily, and will prevent you from ruining your projects if too much liquid is expelled. You could also use a regular dry paint brush instead of a waterbrush. I hope that you find this little tip to be helpful!

Hi all! Hope you all are doing well. I'm sorry I haven't updated my blog in awhile. I haven't been feeling well and between dr.'s appointments and preparing for the start of a new school year things have just been busy! 

I did created a few projects over the last couple of weeks though. I created several wedding cards. This is one of my favorites

I used my Silhouette to cut the trefoil patterned background from American Crafts silver glitter paper. I ran it through my Xyron sticker maker to make it easy to adhere to the card front, it worked perfectly! 

I pulled some Prima Flowers from my stash, applied glitter enamel dots to the center of each, and adhered them to the card base using foam tape. The sentiment is from an old Stampin' Up Sale-a-Bration stamp set, I stamped it using black ink onto a tag. After threading some lace ribbon through both sides of the tag I adhered it to the card using foam tape.

CFK Birthday Party Challenge

I love those rainbow colors!

I decided to work with the dominant colors in my kit this month...  kraft, pink, light blue, dark blue, & white. This layout showcases photos of Virginia Beach, Virginia, one of my absolute favorite places to be!

 My next project is a card, inspired by the heart place cards in the photo.

I die cut hearts from kraft, pink, & blue cardstock and adhered them to a white cardstock panel.

I then added some mini sequins and popped up the heart panel using foam tape, and then adhered it to the blue cardstock base.

CFK Challenge #1 Inspired by Jewelry

Hi All! I have a card to share that I created for Counterfeit Kit Club's first challenge for the month of October.

CFK Challenge #1: Inspired by Jewelry 

The challenge is to use a piece of YOUR jewelry for inspiration!  Tell it's story...use it's design...and make sure to show us a photo of your inspiration, too.

This was certainly a challenge for me. The only jewelry I wear on a regular basis is a pair of gold hoop earrings and my wedding rings. I decided to play off the gold color & ring shape of my jewelry and created an anniversary card.

Unfortunately I'm not the greatest photographer and had a terrible time capturing the true colors, but trust me when I say this card looks so much better in person :)

I took a piece of white cardstock, adhered Mod Podge to it and then sprinkled on some gold glitter. I set it aside to dry and then added another layer of Mod Podge to seal the glitter onto the cardstock. After it dried, I cut rings from it using Nestability circle dies. I then adhered the rings to the cardstock base, and added some mini rhinestones to mimic the diamonds in my wedding band. The sentiment was stamped using black archival ink.

Blissfully Everafter Blog Hop

Lately I've been trying to make it a point to participate in challenges organized by other paper crafters. Melisa, fellow Angel Sister & friend has been hosting blog hops for awhile now and this is my first time playing. She challenged us to create something using the Blissfully Everafter stamp set from the Angel Company. I don't have this set but she was so sweet and RAK me some images. I really like this set! I hadn't really considered it before now but It's now on my ever growing wish list :)

I could not for the life of me get a good photograph or scan of the first card due to the light color of the patterned paper, but the flower's  color is actually very close to the color of the patterned paper.

  

On the card base I stamped one of the swirls from TAC's Curls & Swirls stamp set using Versamagic Turquoise Gem ink. I inked the stamp and stamped first on a piece of scratch paper and then stamped again without re-inking the stamp, onto the card base. 

I outlined the dress using a Copic marker (B00-Frost Blue). The white flower is a Bazzill Bitty Blossom and the bluish green one & white button is from Making Memories Noteworthy embellishment jar. I attached them using white scrappers floss & glue dots. 

Below the wedding dress I stamped a sentiment from TAC's Everyday Events stamp set. Then I layered a couple of sheets of patterned paper from TAC's Gentle Beginnings paper pack.

My second card  also features patterned paper from the Gentle Beginnings paper pack. I colored the images using Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol. The ribbon was in my stash, I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. 

I left the inside of the card blank because the image really could be used for a variety of occasions... Wedding, Birthday, Mother's Day, Spring Greetings, Thinking of you, ect. I really love the versatility that this image provides. 

For this card I went with a more traditional color scheme. I used a stamp from the Floral Dingbats stamp set, some B&W dotted sheer ribbon, and a nesties tag die. I colored the image using copic markers & Prismacolor colored pencils, and a glitter pen (for the brides bracelet although you probably can't tell).

Weddings...

I love weddings... and everything else that is representational of love and commitment. One of my very best clients gave me the honor of creating her wedding invitations, thank you cards, and her wedding scrapbook album. Her wedding photos are incredibly breath taking!! She had sort of an Asian & nature theme. I just wanted to share a few photos. I'll be adding an album for the scrapbook layouts so if you'd like to see them check back soon.
