CFK Project: Treat Bag & Card Set

Hi Everyone! My last Counterfeit Kit Challenge project share is all about friendship & Valentine's Day! I used my silhouette to cut the pieces for my little bag using Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush cardstock.

It felt a little plain to me so I embossed the bag pieces before assembling it using my Spellbinders' Hand Drawn Scallops Embossing folder, and then adhered the bow to the front. I created the handles using some Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush ribbon, and filled the bag with some of my favorite treats... dark chocolate caramel, dark chocolate raspberry, and Jolly Rancher lolly pops! 

I had several "cookies" left over from my Christmas Thank You card making session, so I used a couple of them for the focal point for my card. That sentiment is from Altenew's Mini Delight Bold Bloom stamp set, which fit that little heart perfectly! Thanks for stopping by, hope that you all had a sweet Valentine's Day!

CFK Project: Snow Glad We're Friends

 

Hi Everyone, I'm back today with a friendship themed snowman card. I colored this snowman using shades of pinks & reds using Copic Markers and Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I also used Nuvo Drops to highlight the circles on the frame. The pretty patterned paper from my kit has a winter theme, but I think the pops of red almost gives it a "Valentiney" feel. The sentiment strip needed a little something so I adhered a tiny heart clay shape next to it.

 

I also used a light pink Copic to highlight the sentiment, the subtle color makes such a difference! Although the lighting kind of washed it out in the close up photo, it's captured more accurately in the full sized image of the card. July Counterfeit Kit Projects

I'm late sharing my projects that I created using my July Counterfeit Kit, let's pretend that it's not the very last day of September! LOL Fair warning, this is going to be a super long post today. I didn't do much scrapping with my kit, but I did created several cards and a DIY travelers journal with 3 inserts.

I created this "Pop/Flip" card following a tutorial created by Chris Franco, here's a link to her video Pop/Flip Card Tutorial. I need to create more fun fold type cards, I love how this one turned out!

Although this next card looks like it has a lot going on I'd classify it as a Clean and Simple card. It has a panel of printed vellum adhered to the card base. I used a stencil to emboss a card mat and then blended some ink on top. I then used my sewing machine to add some stitching detail around the embossed panel and then adhered it to the card base. I never seem to be able to get the tension right when sewing on paper. Even though the stitches are a little wonky, I still like the subtle texture it adds. I then adhered a stamped and die cut leaf to a simple tag, attached a button, and a little sentiment, and then adhered them to the card front.

My last card has several layers and features a floral die cut and some Papertrey Ink ribbon that's been in my stash forever.

And finally a DIY travelers journal with a few inserts. This was a little tricky to photograph but so fun to make!

Springy Bunny

Another bunny card? Yes! I think I have bunnies on my mind because I've been "bunny watching" daily for weeks! Bunnies have literally taken over my back yard. There's a teeny tiny wooden preserve behind my house where I'm assuming they live. Several times a day they venture out and they come to nibble on this specific area in my yard. It's a barer patch of grass that my husband has been seeding and babying so the grass will thicken and grow. About a month ago he put down some type of fertilizer or grass seed or something or another, and the the bunnies have been drawn to it. I feel bad for my husband because he's been working so hard for years to get the yard looking a certain way... but watching the bunnies has been so fun! They're just too cute. 

Anyway, about a week ago I shared a card, Bunny Boy featuring this same image but with a completely different color palette. I love how color and pattern has the ability to  alter the overall feel of a design or image. Pairing the grey bunny with the lighter colors in the patterned paper definitely makes this card feel much more "springy" to me.

Spring Tulips

Do you have a "go-to" color scheme when you color floral images? I always seem to reach for yellows and purples when I color tulips. I couldn't decide between the two, so today I'm sharing cards featuring both colors!

The tulip image is from the Beautiful Day digital stamp set by Pickled Potpourri Designs. You might actually have this set in rubber form if you've been stamping for a long time and still have some TAC stamps in your stash. Unfortunately I missed out on purchasing the rubber version so I was thrilled to see it being offered as a digital stamp set!

The yellow tulips were colored using Copic markers, and that adorable bee patterned paper is from an Echo Park collection called New Day.

I also colored these purple tulips using Copic markers and then added a sentiment from the Love Lines stamp set from Red Rubber Designs.

Little Lamb

Just wanted to pop in today to share another card that I created using my Counterfeit Kit. I moved my craft room to a different bedroom in my house a couple of weeks ago. I basically just shoved everything in the new room and it's a disaster! I haven't figured out how to capture the best lighting in there just yet so I apologize for the dark grainy photos. 

This little lamb is from a Pickled Potpourri Designs set called Adorable Animals. I colored him using Copic & ProMarkers and applied distress ink along the edges of the image panel. I stamped a sentiment from Red Rubber Designs' Sophisticated Sentiments using black ink and popped it on the card front using foam tape. I also used foam tape to adhere the button.

10-Minute Craft Dash #27

Well I didn't get my card completed in time for the 10 Minute Craft Dash but I wanted to share it anyway. I forgot to photograph my timer, but it took me 9 minutes & 37 seconds... cutting it close again! LOL

I spent a lot of time stamping the single polka dot triangle using the three different inks, and then trying to line them up. The triangles are from Mama Elephant's Trifecta stamp set.

After stamping the background, I matted it on orange cardstock, stamped the sentiment on a white cardstock strip, and popped it up using foam tape. I then added a few sequins to embellish the card.

I loved this card so much I created another one using a similar design in a different color scheme, using contents from my Counterfeit Kit.

Colored Cardstock....

I have a lot of it but I find that I mostly use it for scrapbooking. I almost always stamp on white cardstock and then use colored cardstock for the card base. 

Lately I've been inspired by so many beautiful cards created using colored cardstock and decided to create one myself!

I really like this card, but I think I may go back and rework it to make the colored cardstock a little smaller so that you can see more of the card base. Stamps, cardstock, & buttons are all from PTI.

Is it spring yet?

I've been hibernating... haven't done much crafting these last two weeks. The snow was pretty... the first two snow storms but now it's just getting old. It makes me sleepy and lazy. LOL These icicles are hanging from one of the gutters on my home and measure at least 4 ft. I've never seen anything like this... except on National Geographic. LOL I do have a couple of cards to share with you.

I participated in my very last Angel Art Blog Hop this past weekend. I've resigned from The Angel Company. It was a difficult decision to make but I feel wholeheartedly that it was the best decision for me. But I'll still be here crafting and blogging :)

A New Background Image...

I was so sad to see TAC retire one of my most favorite sets I used to create patterned paper... Floral Dingbats. Here are a few cards I created using it...

I think this will always be a set that I'll reach for but I wanted to purchase a set that hasn't been retired to use in workshops. I was awarded a gift certificate for free stamps for being published in TAC's newest catty so I redeemed it for a few new sets including Aged Ornaments.

I really like this one,  It won't replace my other fave but it's a nice substitution :) The sentiment is from the "Little Cupcake" stamp set.

July Angel Art: Replinish your stash

Hi all! For this month's Angel Art we'll be showcasing cards that we've created to add to our stash. The summer months are so busy and it's a challenge for some of us to find time to sneak away from the kiddos to create so it's always convenient to have a few cards on hand when you need them. Happy Friendship month!

Did you know that February is national frienship month? This month the "Angels" created friendship themed projects in honor of this holiday for this month's "Angel Art."

 

I really wish that I had a stamp that says "Hey Girl!" because that's how I always greet my BFF. I may have to order a personalized stamp that says that! LOL

Hives

Have you ever had hives? OMG they are the worst thing ever! I LOVE Starbuck's Chai tea so I purchased some Chai tea bags from the grocery store a couple of weeks ago because they were on sale. The first few cups I drank, and I noticed my lips were a little dry the next day but didn't think anything of it. Then my lips turned a little black after another cup... I couldn't figure out why my lips were black and didn't think much of it and certainly didn't think it had to do with the tea. Well two days ago I drank another cup using tea bags from the same package and my lips just broke out into hives. I spent the last two days sleeping thanks to the benedryl and now it's 3am and I can't sleep! LOL I threw out the rest of the tea bags I wish I would have remembered who they were manufactured by, they were in a red & black package. I believe it said Indian Chai tea. So now I have black partially blistered, partially scabbed, slightly swollen lips. Uggg.. and NOOOoooo I will not be sharing a photo! LOL Although it would make a funny scrapbook page! So now I need a really good thick waxy chapstick, can you recommend one???

Anyway... I did get a chance to make this card using my new Papertrey stamps. I love how versatile this set is! Jun 15th can't come soon enough (a new set will be introduced then).  I got the patterned paper from Joann's.. I also used stickles on the flower centers but it's hard to tell in the photo. Hope you're having a great Memorial Day weekend!

A gift of Friendship

This was a fun and super easy card.  Products used include: K-ology patterned papers & embellies from the Addison collection. I LOVE, love, LOVE this collection it's so pretty!  

Maybe I spoke too soon...

TAC must have gotten some feedback from Demo's who were not happy about making the SOTM and limited edition stamp sets available without a minimum purchase...so it looks like at some point in the very near future, the SOTM and limited edition stamp sets will be made only available with a $30 minimum purchase (before shipping & tax).
