This weeks theme is all about Music! I don't own any music themed stamps so I used some music themed die cuts for my cards.

 

I stamped the background using a Gingham Background Stamp using grey ink, I added a few ink splatters using a black spray mist, and added a few dots randomly using a gold ink pen.

 

I stamped the sentiment using a mini alphabet stamp set called Mini-Bet and adhered two mini star wood veneer pieces that I painted with the gold ink pen. 

 

 

My next card features a diecut that I LOVE. My son gave it two thumbs up too! This card would be a perfect birthday card for a teenage boy or... or any young at heart music lover in your life! 

 

 

I used another alphabet stamp set, Distressed Typewriter Bet to create the sentiment for this card. I stamped it on vellum and used two mini pewter brads to attach it to the card front. 

 

I also added splatters using spay mist, and inked the edges of the card using grey & black inks. The patterned paper is a digital print from Pickled Potpourri Designs' Distressed Black and White paper collection. I printed the paper on laser jet paper using my ink jet printer and I love the texture! The paper feels like a true patterned paper compared to the standard ink jet paper that I normally would use to print patterned paper. Chatterbox Challenge

So... do you remember Chatterbox? A long, long... ok well maybe not that long ago, but there used to be a Scrapbook company called Chatterbox who made beautiful patterned papers and lot's of other paper crafting goodies. I loved their patterned paper! They had a signature to their design, you could easily identify it without needing to see the manufacturers label. 

I've been hoarding the last few sheets of my Chatterbox paper for a good 5+ years now! LOL I decided to sit down and actually create something with them. It was so hard to cut into this paper... but I think I may have one or two more sheets somewhere! LOL

I created a 6x8 layout to go in my Sn@p Album. 

I also created a few masculine cards, one for Father's Day & a Congrats card, that would work well for graduation, retirement, promotion, ect. 

Scenic Route is another one of my faves who is no longer around. Some of my current faves are Basic Grey, Simple Stories, Fancy Pants Designs, Echo Park, & Teresa Collins. Who are your favorite patterned paper manufacturers, past or present?

Hope you all had a great week! We're having a lazy/cleaning day today. Finishing up the laundry and some other little chores leisurely. Wait can you use "leisurely" and chores in the same sentence??!! LOL Well let's just say I'm not in a rush to get them done, but I'm working on them.

Anyhoo just wanted to share a card I whipped up for this weeks' Cas-ual Friday Challenge. I used alphabet die cuts propped up using foam tape for the focal image. The cheveron mat is from Simple Stories' Awesome Collection, love those little tags! The stamped sentiments are from PTI's Say It with Style stamp set. I used my old school TAC Crackle Background stamp to add some texture to the card base, added some ink to the edges, and attached a couple of mini brad to finish the card. 

This close up photo is a better picture of the actual colors. Photographing lighter colors with my little point and shoot can be tricky sometimes. By the way, Red Rubber Designs is a new company that is selling stamps and products that were available through The Angel Company which closed awhile back. So if you're a TAC fan and missed out on purchasing some stamps on your wish list you might be able to find them there.

Happy Father's Day!

It's time for another Angel Art Blog Hop! This month's theme is Father's Day so if you haven't created your Father's Day cards yet you'll find plenty of inspiration here!

 

 

This card was so quick & easy to make I think I'm going to use this same layout to create a few all occasions cards for my stash. I used TAC's Penelope patterned paper collection for this card. It's not your traditional Father's Day Card color scheme but I like it! :)

I created this card a couple of months ago for a limited supply challenge. We were supposed to use a circle stamp, a button, & ribbon. I used one of the circle stamps from TAC's Circle Sampler to create the background paper.

 

 

I also used scrappers floss on the button & a nestabilities label diecut. One of my faves :)

Father's Day???

So I know I always complain about the retail industrty skipping holidays or placing emphasis on one over another but I just had to share this card with you. I'll be sharing some Mother's Day cards very soon.

I printed the paper used for the first card on white cardstock but decided to use TAC's ultra-smooth ivory cardstock to use on this card. It gives it a slightly different look.
