It's been awhile! I won't bore you with a long story about my absence except to say that it was health related but all is well and I'm thrilled to be back in my updated craft room! There's just something about being in a tidy space that inspires me to create. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll stay disciplined enough to keep things relatively neat.
I purchased some IKEA pieces to organize my space and used their room planner tool to help me to decide which pieces would fit best. My room is a decent size, approximately 13' x 11' with a large window on one wall. The wall across from it has a small closet and a door leading to a bathroom, leaving me without any usable space for storage. This is how I envisioned my craft room...
Here are a some "tidied" before photos... it was too much of a disaster to share the true state of the mess of a room it had become! LOL
This is the wall behind my entry door and where I put my 4x4 Kallax unit. I wanted the 5x5 unit but it's been out of stock FOREVER. The 4x4 works nicely though because I'm short! LOL I can still reach the top of the unit, which is where I'll be storing most of my stamp bins. I still have room for a 1x4 on the right side, and I can also stack another 1x4 or 2x4 unit on top of the 4x4 unit if I really need to.
I purchased an Alex cart which will sit in front of the window and will house my Silhouette. I'd like to purchase another Alex cart so that I can have a dedicated space to load my silhouette mats but I think it'll make the space feel crowded, but I'm going to think on it for awhile.
This is the wall across from my 4x4 Kallax, (to the right of the floor lamp) it will house my wall mounted ink pad storage and a 2x4 Kallax unit.
My finished design came pretty close to my plan! It's been a little overwhelming trying to organize everything but I have to say that 99% of my stash are items I actually use I didn't have to do very much purging, I just need to get to work using the things I own. I'll share some "after" photos soon.
Hope you all are doing well!
