Winter Faux Postage

 

Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2025 has started out well for you! 

 

Faux postage has been trending for awhile now but I have yet to create any up until now. I love all of the coordinating dies and stamps that are currently on the market but I decided to dig through my stash and used some old & newer products to create my stamps. Most of the older supplies I used are not available for purchase but I will include them in the a supply list below. 

 

 

I'm using a larger font on this post, I'd love your feedback on it. Do you think it's too large? I may need a new prescription but I find myself needing to "zoom" in more when browsing the web. The text seems to be shrinking. LOL

This little 4x4 collage was so fun to create! I heat embossed the background using clear embossing powder and Red Rubber Designs' Background Stripes stamp. I love the subtle texture this creates! 

 

 

I layered and adhered some torn gelli printed deli papers, masked & stamped "Blessed" from a sentiment in the Here I am Stamp set also from Red Rubber Designs.

 

 

I stapled that to the kraft label die cut and layered it on a piece of that yellow gelli printed paper I still had out on my desk from yesterday's card. I like the the extra pop of color it adds.

Day 2/100 features another 6x6 collage.

Gelli printed phone book pages is my JAM! I usually recycle my phone books but I think I'm going to keep one or two on hand just for gelli printing. The pages are thin, but they can handle the weight of the paint and are perfect for using in collage pieces.  I'll try to list the products I've used going forward, but you'll have to forgive me for not sharing the paint colors that I used. It's all a blur, but for the most part I mostly used Liquitex Basics, Liquitex Heavy Body, Golden Heavy Body, Dylusions, and Folk Art acrylic paints for all of my prints. 

I used my new favorite stencil to gelli print the background layer on the phone book page for this piece and then adhered a piece of deli paper that I stamped using one of my favorite script stamps from Red Rubber Designs. I adhered the gelli printed hearts on top and layered the piece with a white mat for framing.

Last month's Gelli Printing challenge really stirred up my mojo! I decided to take part in another challenge

The 100 Day Project

I decided to spend 100 days creating art using my stack of gelli prints. If I'm completely honest, this challenge will probably take me more than 100 days, but I'm committed to creating 100 pieces of art. The most important thing for me is to enjoy the process of creating without the stress.

Most of my creations will be cards, collage pieces, and art journal layouts, but I may try a few other project ideas as well. 

Here's what I created for day 1/100.

I wanted to try my hand at creating some collage pieces in a variety of sizes. This one measures 6x6 inches. I adhered gelli printed text & deli papers to a white cardstock base. I Added a few flicks of black acrylic paint, adhered a butterfly die cut, some Tim Holtz stickers, and stamped a few stitched lines.
