Hi everyone! I have some Christmas Thank You card inspiration for you today. The focal points on my cards feature gingerbread cookie die cuts created using designs from the Freshly Baked Digital Art Collection by Close to My Heart. I am of the opinion that cookies are appropriate for any and every occasion, so I definitely have some plans on how to use the designs in this collection for year round crafting. Changing the color palette, or pairing an image with an alternate sentiment can help you to stretch the use of your supplies. My first card features a trio of gingerbread men along with the cooling rack from the collection. I used foil cardstock to cut out the cooling rack and I LOVE how it turned out!
I used the Christmas Tree, and Heart designs from the collection to create some faux cookie embellishments. I used glittered cardstock to cut the decorated layer, and white cardstock to cut the solid layer behind it. I also used kraft cardstock to create an offset so that the gingerbread cookies look like they are frosted with white icing with a glittered sugar coating glittered sugar sprinkled on top. I inked the edges of the kraft layer using brown ink to make the edges of the cookies appear freshly baked.
I dry embossed some kraft cardstock mats using SU's Subtle 3D embossing folder to give them a little extra texture and then adhered them to white card bases, and finally I adhered the scalloped edged mats flat to finish the cards. As of today, the digital collection as well as some of the physical products included in the collection are still available via the Close To My Heart Website. This isn't a sponsored post, but I've linked you to Chris Franco's website. Feel free to shop with your preferred CTMH Maker.
