I've been receiving Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin kits for several months now and I have to say I am really enjoying them. I've looked at them in previous years but I just didn't find them to be inspiring to be completely honest. But Stampin' up has really stepped up their game and the kits seem to be getting better and better each month.
I like the project ideas that they provide in their kits, but I can almost never follow the directions. I always seem to want to make a tweak here and there and by the time I'm done with my project I've created something entirely different! LOL That's one of the reasons why I'm reluctant to take an "in person" card making class. I think I offended the instructor at the last one I took because I didn't follow the directions.
Anyway these are a couple of the Alternative projects that I created mostly using the contents from the kit. I stamped the sentiments using Merry Merlot ink, and pulled some teal cardstock from my stash that is a close match to Pretty Peacock to layer on the bag and the card front.
I used Kraft cardstock to create my card base and cut a stitched circle die cut from white cardstock to frame the patterned vellum piece. I used my favorite vellum adhesive, the *Plus Permanent Vellum Glue Tape runner. This adhesive is amazing and doesn't show through the vellum when adhering it to a non vellumed surface. I haven't tried using it to make vellum envelopes or pockets, but I think if it does show, it wouldn't be as obvious as it would be if you used a different adhesive. You can click on the photos for an enlarged view. Thanks so much for stopping by!
