I love Dylusions' Fresh Lime paint, this bright green screams Spring doesn't it? One of the things I love most about the Gelli Plate is that it allows you to create one of a kind mono prints and also create custom patterned papers that you can easily recreate again and again like this butterfly design. I used the Butterfly Overlay cut file from the Silhouette Design Store to create a stencil for this design.
I applied the Lime green paint to my gelli plate first to create the background base color for my patterned paper. I laid the butterfly stencil on the Gelli Plate and brayered white paint over the stencil. I then removed the stencil and used the Lime Green print to pull the butterfly design.
When I buy patterned paper I tend to purchase multiple sheets of each pattern, I hate the idea of running out of a design that I love. The use of stencils, a few paint colors, and my Gelli Plate makes creating custom patterned paper designs that I can create over and over again so easy! I never have to worry about not being able to find "one more sheet" for a project that I'm working on.
I hope this inspires you to create your own custom patterned paper designs using a Gelli Plate. The Gelli Plate comes in a variety of sizes including 12x14 for your 12x12 scrapbook layouts!
