July 2016 Counterfeit Kit

I'm popping in today to share my Counterfeit Kit for July. I love the way this challenge helps me to use what I already own. It's definitely made me more mindful about my crafty purchases.

 

 

The colors in this kit got my attention, I always lean toward bright colors so this was perfect. I had some 3x4 cards from Simple Stories I Am collection, so I started with those and pulled patterned papers and cardstock from my stash that worked well with them.

 

 

I've been slowly purging and organizing my stash and came across a TON of eyelets, snaps, and decorative brads, so I'll be using some of those with my kit.

 

 

I am planning to use my Silhouette to create some embellishments, and will also use some stamps, inks, paints, and other color mediums to create with.

 

 

 

 

Updates

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe it's been more than a year since I last updated my blog. This past year has been a bit of a challenge for me health wise. I mostly have just been tired... the fatigue that comes along with Multiple Sclerosis is difficult to explain. I truly understand why sleep deprivation is used as a torture technique.

The exhaustion that comes with it makes it difficult to even think, speak, and even get out of bed some days. I've been working with my neurologist to try to find ways to manage the fatigue and while some days are pretty good, others are not. I've been learning to go with the flow, listen to my body, and try not to beat myself up too badly over the things that I can't manage to do.

Today is a pretty good day! I'm sitting in my craft room with ink & stamps and it feels great! I even pulled together some supplies to play along with the Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month.
