About a month ago my family adopted a cat. My husband isn't really a pet person... he likes fish! LOL I had been asking for a cat for a good 16 years or so and he always said NO without missing a breath! I somewhat jokingly told him if I had of known that he would not change his mind about not liking cats, I might not have married him! LOL After a few years I figured it would never happen... but then my son started asking. It only took him 5yrs to wear down his father!
So we adopted Simon. He's 3 years old, and is such a "cat." He's so quiet and has this little meek meow that is half meow, half purr. He's too cute. He's a little skittish but has his own way of doing things. He will completely ignore you if the sun is up, but come evening time he wants 100% of your attention... but only in 3.5 second intervals! LOL He cracks me up!
My son & I love and adore him already. My husband and Simon have an understanding. My husband will let Simon brush up against him, he'll even feed him, but he hasn't warmed up to him enough yet to want to pick him up or pet him just yet. It only took him 40+ years to even consider allowing a cat to reside with him, so maybe in a couple of years he'll allow Simon to nap on his lap! LOL
