Little Lamb

Just wanted to pop in today to share another card that I created using my Counterfeit Kit. I moved my craft room to a different bedroom in my house a couple of weeks ago. I basically just shoved everything in the new room and it's a disaster! I haven't figured out how to capture the best lighting in there just yet so I apologize for the dark grainy photos. 

This little lamb is from a Pickled Potpourri Designs set called Adorable Animals. I colored him using Copic & ProMarkers and applied distress ink along the edges of the image panel. I stamped a sentiment from Red Rubber Designs' Sophisticated Sentiments using black ink and popped it on the card front using foam tape. I also used foam tape to adhere the button.

A CFK layout

So sorry to be MIA. I've been trying to update my blog for almost two weeks now and Typepad has been having all kinds of issues lately.  I've been with them for almost 8 years and have never had so many issues except in the last few months. I hope that they will get their developers on top of what ever is causing these issues. 

Anyway, it's the end of May already, and I had a chance to create several projects using my Counterfeit Kit. I assembled a smaller kit this month because I knew I wouldn't have much time to play, but I surprised myself by how much I was able to create. 

I'll be sharing those projects with you this week... so long as Typepad cooperates. Today I have a layout to share. 

  

My brother recently moved here to Maryland from San Diego, CA and I had a chance to take him to Washington, D.C. for the first time. Although I have lived here for 13 years I haven't spent a lot of time in D.C. so it's always fun to go... especially with someone who's experiencing our nation's capital for the very first time! You can click on the photos to get a close up view.

I cheated a little bit and used some green and beige buttons, green cardstock and a little bit of polka dot patterned paper on this layout, which were not apart of my CFK. I used the pattenred paper to create a couple of tags, and used my Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves dies and the green cardstock to create some die cuts for this layout. 

I also added some distress ink along the edges of the photo mats and layout.  I used a green Gelato and brown Copic mark to recolor the chipboard alphas. My friend Valerie let me borrow her Gelato which was the perfect shade of green! I love how easy it was to recolor the alphas especially using the Gelato!

I applied the Gelato directly to the alpha, smudged it in with my fingers and applied a little water using a water brush. I waited a few minutes and then repeated the process a few more times until I was happy with the color. 

Finally I added a few wood veneer pieces along with the tags that I created, staples, and buttons to embellish this layout. Thanks so much for looking!

 

Yellow Tulips

Blooming season for tulips in my neck of the woods happened weeks ago, but I'm still dreaming of them. They are one of my most favorite flowers. I used one of the tulip images from Pickled Potpourri's Flopsy Bunny stamp set and a sentiment from the Elegant Greetings stamp set. One of the things I really love about digital stamps is being able to resize the images. I enlarged both the sentiment and image for this card. 

I also love the color yellow, but it's such a challenge to photograph... I'll work on that! I used some Nestabilities circle dies to cut circles for the sentiment. I colored the image using Copic & ProMarkers and added a few enamel dots to complete this card.

I've been super busy with school that I really haven't had much time to craft lately. Luckily for me, I completed all of the assignments for my most demanding class and it's finally over! So I can get back to what is most important... my scraps! LOL 

Paper Camellia's April 2014 Kits are on the board for this month's Counterfeit Kit Challenge. I'm counterfeiting the add on kit...

I love the yellow in this kit! I pulled some digital stamp images from Pickled Potpourri Designs, Flopsy Bunny and Adorable Animals, some cardstock, patterned papers, buttons, scrappers floss, paper clips, enamel dots, wood veneer shapes, and some Thickers to assemble my kit. I plan to also work with some ink and maybe some additional stamps.
