I've been missing out! I would describe my crafty style as mostly clean and simple. I love the vintage look & the "mixed media" look but my brain just doesn't know how to create it! LOL On purpose anyway that is.
Stephanie Ackerman of Homegrown Hospitality does some amazing things with distress inks & stains, and I am just so inspired by her work that I decided to reach outside of my comfort zone and try something different.
Alcohol inks aren't a new craft medium, they are just new to me. I used a 50% off coupon and purchased a trio of brown inks by Ranger, grabbed some glossy cardstock and just played. It was so much fun!
After fooling around with the ink for awhile I decided to create a fall-ish card.
Once I was happy with the alcohol inked background, I randomly stamped one of the leaf images from Red Rubber Designs' Luscious Leaves stamp set over it using black archival ink. I can't wait to get some brighter colors! If you've never used alcohol inks before, Tim Holtz has a great video tutorial showing different ways to use the ink.
