You Are Appreciated

I'm on a roll today. My mojo has made it back to my desk, yay! I started working on a canvas, although I think it's going to be one of those projects that I'm really going to take my time with. So far I've painted over it 3 times! I haven't found the "right" look I'm going for. The good thing about painting over it so many times is that it's given the canvas great texture. I just need to decide what I want to do with it. I'm so inspired lately by Christy Tomlinson's canvas art. She's too cool :) I would love to take a class taught by her!

Anyway, I set my canvas aside to dry and decided to work on my Christmas cards tonight, but my 6x6 pad of Simple Stories Summer Fresh paper  was just begging to be used. It's been sitting on my scrap table for a couple of months now. 

I love the bright cheery colors and patterns in this collection! I stamped the sentiment using L'Amore Red Palete ink... love that red. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Word Salad stamp set. Thanks for visiting :)

 

Happy Halloween!

Hurricane Sandy dumped 24+ hours of rain and wind on us. Thankfully we didn't have any serious damage to our home. I hope you all fared well too!

It looks like trick or treating is still scheduled for our community tomorrow. I thought I'd share a Halloween card with you all. I used this weeks "Less is More" sketch challenge for my card. The spider image and sentiment are from the $1 stamp bin I picked up from Michaels. I used a splatter image from Red Rubber Designs So Splattered stamp set for the background.

5 Long Months...

I can't believe it's been that long since I've updated my blog, or created something crafty. My mojo has been MIA since the summer. It was a busy summer... bittersweet actually. Life just kinda stopped me in my tracks. But I'm back.

 

One thing I realized is that crafting isn't just a hobby, it's really an outlet that allows me to think of something other than what's going on in my life and in the world. An escape if you will :) Anyone else sick and tired of the political ADs?? Anyway, I'm jumping back into my crafting. Trying to spend at least a few minutes each day doing something crafty.

 

 

This weeks CAS-UAL Fridays challenge was perfect in jump starting my mojo. A great CAS card always seems to do the trick :)
