Hi There!

Happy Wednesday! I can't believe it's  midweek already. I thought about doing some spring cleaning today but after studying for awhile I decided to head up to my craft room for a bit :) 

Before I get to that, I just wanted to tell you about a cool App I downloaded for my Windows Phone. I like my phone, a lot. It's like a little computer, but I prefer to use my actual computer for browsing the net. I don't know why I guess I just like the larger screen. But I find myself blog hopping while waiting in the car lane to pick T up from schoo :) It's not the same... again because I like the larger screen and the ability to save ideas to my pc, ect.

So I figured there would be an App that would make browsing easier :) Don't laugh, I'm new to Apps! LOL I found this one called Flux and it allows to view your Google Reader with a few different options. I LOVE this, it makes viewing so easy! Someone was kind enough to create a video review/tutorial on how it works that you can view here... Flux Demo. Pretty neat huh?

Anyway, I've been working on some CAS all occasion cards for my stash. I love this set by PTI not only is it adorable, but it also makes my wallet very happy! I love the fact that this set includes a focal image and has a few different sentiments that makes crafting on a budget so very easy!

I heart Modern Basics

I treated myself to some new stamps this month :) I really needed Maile's newest set. I was SOLD on this set after seeing Maile's creations using it, even before seeing the set in it's entirety... which almost never happens!

A Big Thank You

Hi all!

I am seriously loving PTI's idea to "supersize" some of their popular sentiments. This month's Think Big Favorites #2  is definitely one of my favorites, and it's only $5.00!

I went digging through my patterned paper stash to find a sheet of paper that wasn't Basic Grey to use. Lately I've been reaching for my Basic Grey or Echo Park, so I wanted to use something else. I don't have a huge stash, but because I always reach for my favorites I often forget what else I have tucked away. I found a few sheets of double sided patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Rough & Tough paper collection... actually I found a lot of MME's patterned paper that I forgot that I purchased! PTI's Ripe Avocado ink works so well with it. 

This size sentiment makes it so easy to whip up a bunch of cards in one sitting...

I think my mojo is back, yay! Thanks for looking :)

Happy Spring!

We woke up to a lightening and thunder storm this morning... but hey winter is officially over and the sun is shining now :)  Besides, I'd much rather have a thunder storm than an ice storm wouldn't you?

Speaking of the winters end, Clean & Simple has a fitting sketch this week, perfect for welcoming spring with flowers!

Isn't this a great sketch? I whipped up a bunch of CAS cards using this layout today and made a tiny dent in my patterned paper scrap pile too :)

Have you seen the newest Basic Grey collections? My LSS just got some in but I've been good. I didn't buy any.. YET! LOL I'm going to be scrappin' and stampin' up a storm this next week so I can justify buying more paper :) Thanks for visiting today!

 

Make it Monday: Distressing

Hi all! I'm loving these "back to basics" challenges PTI has been having. This weeks challenge is distressing, which is a fave of mine. Edge distressing & paper tearing are two techniques I used to use a lot for masculine cards but this time I decided to use it on a "girly" birthday card :)

I added some stitching to the focal image and then used my edge distresser on the edges.

Food intolerances suck!

Last week I was miserable. I'm still feeling kinda crappy but I'm hoping this week will be better. We went out to eat last Saturday. Something we rarely do anymore because I have some food intolerances that cause neurological & gastro problems and we recently found out that my son is allergic to wheat. I don't eat meat and DH & DS love meat so finding a restaurant that can offer something for all of us has been a challenge lately. I heard about a local restaurant that has an awesome gluten free menu with vegetarian & meat entrees & a kitchen staff that understands Celiac Disease & food allergies & intolerances in general so we went to try them out.

The food was really good, the kitchen staff was knowledgeable about cross contamination which I am sooooooo sensitive to. The food was amazing, but half way through my meal I ran out of gluten free soy sauce and asked our server for some extra but she brought me the regular kind :( Uggg!!!!  I knew instantly that it was regular and unfortunately for me one little taste is all it takes to trigger symptoms that last up to 3 to 4 weeks. I was kinda annoyed because the food was kinda expensive too. But on a positive note, we all enjoyed the food. So we might eat there again, it's nice to have someone else do the cooking sometimes. I'll just have to be a little neurotic about asking for what I need. I hate to be that way but it's not worth being sick for a month... and I'm a great tipper to make up for it! :) 

Needless to say I didn't do any crafting last week. The brain fog & migraines are the worst and it makes it hard to think! Luckily it's a little better this morning. The sun is shining which always makes for a good day :)

I have to do some catch up with cleaning & errands this week but I sat down to create something to share with you all. Isn't purple glitter fun :) One of the Make it Monday challenges PTI hosted recently was to use sticky tape to create a glitter strip on a project. I love glitter but don't use it often enough, and I totally forgot how easy it is to use glitter on a project using sticky tape. I added this huge floral embellishment by Prima flowers to use as a focal point.
