I'll be MIA for a few days...

Hi All! Hope you had an AMAZING Christmas :)  Ours was nice! It's neat to see how Christmas changes each year as my son gets older. This might be our last year for "toys" so Santa may be twittling his thumbs next year trying to figure out what to bring T.

We were hoping for a white Christmas but I  think we may have been the only ones who didn't get any snow! LOL Maybe next year!  Although this year seems to have gone by so quickly I'm actually looking forward to 2011. I hope that 2010 was filled with many blessing & lessons for you and your loved ones... with many more for 2011 :)

My computer is doing something weird, I can't even get it to boot so I'm using DH's laptop. Unfortunately for me he needs it for work so I've been without a PC for a few days. I'm hoping to purchase a new computer sometime this week or next, hopefully I'll have something crafty to share very soon! Just in case I'm not back up and running before the 1st have a safe and Happy New Year!

Hi All! Can you believe Christmas will be here in two days??!! The month of December just whipped right by me! I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas. I'll be spending the next few days with my family as I'm sure you will be doing the same. Enjoy your weekend!

Challenge: Create a Thank You card

Hi everyone,  TGIF!! Only 7 more shopping days until Christmas! Are you finished, or are you stressing about finding that perfect gift? I'm just about finished, I just have a few gifts to buy or make and then I'll be finished, yay! 

I know that everyone is busy preparing for Christmas but this challenge may actually tackle one of the items on your to-do list... make thank you cards! This week your challenge is to create a Thank You card. You never can have too many, especially during this time of year! Your card can have a holiday theme or you can create one that has a more generic theme for everyday use. Challenge yourself to use one or more items that have been in your stash for awhile. 

What is a DIO Challenge?

 

Don't you just love that paper? It's another pattern from Fancy Pants' Hot Chocolate Collection I used some retired stamp sets from TAC to stamp the sentiment & snowflakes. Yes... I know that the patterned paper is new, but the stamps, ribbons, & rhinestones aren't, so this card still follows the DIO guidelines! LOL Oh and I used SU's retired Cranberry Crisp ink too! it works so well with the colors in this collection!

Basic Grey patterned paper

When I first started scrapbooking I purchased most of my patterned paper from Michaels and Joann's and then I discovered scrapbooking forums and Two Peas in a Bucket which totally expanded my horizons! LOL Some of my favorite manufacturers have closed up shop since I started Scrappin' back in 2001, but one has stood the test of time...  Basic Grey :)

While I can't say that I've loved every collection they've ever released, I can say that with every new release there has been at least one collection I've just had to have! To say that they are still one of my absolute favorites almost 7 years later is pretty impressive in my book! 

I do have a few new favorites... Jilli Bean Soup, Echo Park, & Fancy Pants Designs :) So who are your favorites right now? Did you ask Santa for something crafty this year?

Gluten Free Cake Pops...

They aren't as beautiful as Bakerella's but they are

gluten free & YUMMY :)

Unfortunately they are NOT healthy but they are a great treat :) I used Betty Crocker's Gluten Free Devil's Food cake mix and it's wonderful! It truly tastes like regular cake! These were so fun to make! So easy but I won't lie, it becomes tedious if you need to make a lot. My son said... " Oooooh Impressive!" I think I might recruit him to help make the other ones :)

TGIF! This has been such a loooonnnnnggggg week! I have another snowman card to share with you today. Unfortunately it was really cloudy here today so the photo is a little dark but isn't he cute?

I just can't stay away from the red & brown color combo, especially with this image. The patterned paper I used isn't by Basic Grey... I know! I gasped myself :) It's actually by Fancy Pants Designs from their Hot Chocolate Collection The whole collection is super cute!

A new look :)

I know I was supposed to share something crafty with you all today but I didn't get around to photographing my card so I'll have to try again tomorrow. 

How do you like my new look :) Seems like I just updated it, but I wanted a slightly different look and Veronica came to my rescue. She did such a great job and even promised that she didn't laugh at the sketch I sent her to guide her design process... I can't draw! LOL

Etsy Stores & Google Reader

I don't have anything crafty to share but I wanted to share something I learned today. Did you know that you can add your favorite Etsy Store links to your Google Reader and receive updates when sellers list new individual items?? This may be old news but I just figured it out! LOL I find it to be handy especially when some of my favorite sellers list items and they get snatched up literally within minutes! 

If you'd like to add my store just copy and paste my store address and add it to your Google Reader subscription list.

Snowman Love

I so love this image :) I wanted to use a non-traditional color scheme for this card. I can't seem to get away from the reds & greens when creating holiday cards. I almost made it though! LOL I pulled out some purple cardstock for the card base, colored the image using Sharpe & Copic markers. I also applied Glossy Affects to the holly berries. Thanks for looking!

It's that time again... DIO Friday Challenge week, and it's RAK Week! What is RAK Week? Every now and then I'll offer up a RAK to DIO Friday Challenge participants. Participants will be randomly selected. To be eligible you must follow the guidelines of the challenge and provide a link to your creation. The linking option will be closed after 10 days so be sure to get your entries in before that time. All other DIO Friday Challenges will not have a time limit, you can participate anytime! There is no rhyme or reason as to how often RAK week will occur or what will be offered, it'll be totally random so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled :)

Stickers... I  know you have them... probably collecting dust, from WAY back in your early days of scrapbooking and card making. Before you discovered the joys of rubber stamps! LOL And if you don't have any you can just use some alphabet stickers that you might have laying around to create your focal point.

  

I purchased this sticker from a $1 store a few years ago. I only remember this because I went to the store for some photo mailers and they had a whole isle of scrapbooking supplies that they didn't normally sell. My memory really isn't that good! LOL

I really love this sticker, it almost looks layered and I love the sparkle from the glitter! The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee's 365 Collection. I used a sentiment from PTI's mixed messages set, along with a mini button, scrappers floss, and ribbon to complete this card.

Holiday Blessings

Hi everyone! Tomorrow I'm promoting my Etsy shop, so I've been working like a mad woman to add inventory. Unfortunately I wasn't able to add much to my shop because I've been busy with some custom orders but I'll be adding more cards over the next couple of weeks. After Dec. 10th I will not be adding any more Christmas cards to my site but I will have some new Birthday & Thank you card designs.

The weather here is pretty dreary today so my photos are a little dark, but I wanted to share another holiday card with you. I kept this card really simple because I love those ornaments :) The patterned paper is by Basic Grey... of course :) paired with some PTI stamps. Thanks for looking!
