It's been awhile since I've scrapped a layout

I haven't really taken very many photos this year. I guess that could be a good thing since I still have lot's of photos to scrap from 2006 & 2007. I love my camera it's Canon Powershot S3 but it's heavy! I need to make it a point to just grab it anyway and capture more everyday stuff.

Anyway these photos were from last October or November of Tim playing in the leaves at his grandparents home. He loves being there with them. He used to spend a lot of time down there, they live about 2hrs away from us. But school and the activities that come along with it makes it challenging to get down there. But we're gonna do better :) He's very lucky to have some Grandparents living so close. Anyway thanks for looking!

Card Makeovers

In 2005 I was a member of Homegrown Scrapbook's design team... I miss it :( Anyway, I was sorting through some of the projects I created and came across these mini cards... 

 

   

During that time mini cards were new to me and I made a lot of them but I put very few to use. Needless to say I had quite a few 3x3, 2x4, and other small sized cards just sitting in a card box so I spent a few hours yesterday adhering the mini cards to card fronts to create standard sized cards. Hence... card make overs :) Pretty smart huh? LOL

Today's card features a flower stamp from TAC's Fanciful Flowers stamp set. Sadly it was retired a few catalogs back but it's one of those sets that I reach for all the time :) The sentiment is from PTI's Mixed Messages, another set I really love!

Ways to use it: Scrapper's Floss

 

I really like the clean lines of this card but It also makes me realize that I really "NEED" the skinnier rectangle Nestie dies LOL I think the ballons would look nice on a smaller mat. The background paper is from Basic Grey, and I used Scrappers Floss for the little bow tie. I never really understood the point of Scrappers Floss when I first heard about it but I'm finding all kinds of ways to use it :)

 

Most of the time I use it to thread buttons like on this card.

 

But it's also nice to use to add little tags to different projects too.

Another Birthday Card

 

I pulled out my Wordsworth clear stamps to create this card. I created one similar to it awhile back but I needed to add some more masculine cards to my stash. Right now I have very few generic masculine images so this one will get lot's of love until I find some other ones that I like.

Pink Frosting

 

Lately I've been spending time replenishing my birthday card stash. I recently discover the wonders of glitter pens... LOVE THEM! I colored this image using Prismacolor color pencils and then colored over the image using the glitter pen. It was challenging to capture the detail in this photo but hopefully you can see it a little. Thanks for looking! Have a great Monday :)

Another Color Combo Challenge

 

This weeks color challenge over at Paperwings:  Ivory, Dark Green, Dark Orange, Dark Brown. For this card I used my script background stamp to "grunge" up the orange cardstock a bit. I think the pumpkin needs some shading or something I'm not sure but at least it's festive :)

A Happy World Cardmaking Day Giveaway :)

Hope you're having a super crafty day! Just wanted to share a card that I made the other day. This card features a Hero Arts cupcake stamped image and sentiment from The Angel Company's "Trendy Greetings" set.

I love the look of the Copic markers but haven't invested in them because I rarely use the markers I already own! But I decided to pull out my Tombow markers to color this image. I heat embossed the image first using detail black embossing powder. The areas that I wanted to highlight, I simply covered over them a few times using the markers to darken those areas.

It wouldn't be World Cardmaking Day without a giveaway right? Besides it's been awhile since I offered some blog candy too! Today's prize...

I decided to pull out my alpha stamps to stamp the sentiment. I love TAC's mini-bet font. It does require a little more effort to use these mini stamps but the results are so worth it.

Halloween 2008

 

When I started creating this card I had something different in mind but it just didn't turn out the way I expected. Anyhoo, this would be a great card to send to the Grandparents with photos of the kiddos in their Halloween costumes.

 

The board clip didn't match the green cardstock... it's more of a pastel green color so I just sponged it with black ink to tone it down a bit.Thanks for looking!
