A Happy World Cardmaking Day Giveaway :)

IMG_1065

Hope you're having a super crafty day! Just wanted to share a card that I made the other day. This card features a Hero Arts cupcake stamped image and sentiment from The Angel Company's "Trendy Greetings" set.

IMG_1066

I love the look of the Copic markers but haven't invested in them because I rarely use the markers I already own! But I decided to pull out my Tombow markers to color this image. I heat embossed the image first using detail black embossing powder. The areas that I wanted to highlight, I simply covered over them a few times using the markers to darken those areas.

It wouldn't be World Cardmaking Day without a giveaway right? Besides it's been awhile since I offered some blog candy too! Today's prize...

Got Candy?

IMG_0902

Googly eyes for Kisa :)

I decided to pull out my alpha stamps to stamp the sentiment. I love TAC's mini-bet font. It does require a little more effort to use these mini stamps but the results are so worth it.

Halloween 2008

IMG_0864

When I started creating this card I had something different in mind but it just didn't turn out the way I expected. Anyhoo, this would be a great card to send to the Grandparents with photos of the kiddos in their Halloween costumes.

Halloween 2008 close up

The board clip didn't match the green cardstock... it's more of a pastel green color so I just sponged it with black ink to tone it down a bit. Thanks for looking!

Stamps: The Angel Company: Trick or Treaters & Mini-bet

PTI & DCWV Cardstock

Made in Minutes Monday: You warm my heart

IMG_0716

I really love the warm colors of this paper collection. This card features patterned paper from the Penelope paper collection by The Angel Company.

I stamped the sentiment on a tag that is included with the paper collection and then inked the edges with black ink. I also inked the edges of the card base using black ink. Then I matted a piece of green patterned paper onto the striped patterned paper and distressed the edge of the striped paper.

I added some piercing to that pattered paper mat, added a flower and mini brad to the tag and adhered it to the pattered paper mat using foam tape to give the card a little depth. Then I adhered it to the card base.

Thanks for looking!

Give Thanks

IMG_0711

Yay it's Friday! I thought I'd share a card I created using TAC's Penelope paper & Ribbon collection. The sentiment is from TAC's Give Thanks stamp set... one of the very first stamps sets I ever bought! I sometimes get caught up in buying what's trendy but this is one of those classic sets that is nice to have on hand even after the trends have passed.

Hope your weekend is off to a great start!!

Supplies:

Paper: Penelope Paper collection from The Angel Company

Stamps: Give Thanks from The Angel Company

Embellishments: Penelope ribbon & antique copper eyelets from The Angel Company

This is the first card I made using this set. I still need to work on the coloring but it was a fun card to create and the best part is that I can use this same basic sketch and design for the other images in the set too if I needed a card in a hurry!

One more week...

before the school year officially starts here. Timothy is excited and disappointed at all once... excited to see friends and to start fall baseball but disappointed that he actually has to do school work. LOL

The start of the school year always puts me in Holiday mode... there's Halloween, then Thanksgiving, Christmas, and birthdays sprinkled in between. I was able to get a head start on Christmas cards but thought I'd take a break and work on some Halloween cards.

Made In Minutes Monday: Hanging out with Grandpa

August project #1

I was asked by a client to help her create a quick gift album with scrapbook pages that can be easily duplicated. This is one I came up with which is super quick and easy and keeps the focus on the photo and/or story.

Even though this is an 8x8 layout it can easily be adapted for smaller or larger layouts. You can also adjust the measurements to create a card using the same layout.

This layout features products from one of the newest paper collection & accessory sets introduced in The Angel Company's Fall & Winter catalog. Also featured is a photo of Timothy and his grandfather. For some reason I have very few photos of the both of them. I need to take more!

Thanks for looking!

Color Challenge #15

IMG_0238

I know... I missed quite a few color challenges but now that our summer vacation is nearly over and most of our out of town travels are done with we can get back to our regularly scheduled program :)

It was decided that the color challenges over at the Paper Wings forum will now occur bi-weekly instead of weekly... so onto this weeks challenge... Kraft, green, yellow, & white.

IMG_0229

The sentiment used is from the Ordinary Greetings stamp set from The Angel Company. I used Kraft, white, & yellow cardstock along with some green Bazzill Bling cardstock. I'm sorry I can't recall what the actual name of this shade is. I also used a Prima blossom, button, and white scrappers floss for the embellishment.

It feels great to touch paper again...LOL only a paper crafter will understand that statement. It's good to be home! Hope you're having a beautiful day!

Don't worry...

Summer has definitely NOT passed us by :) I don't know why but I always find myself thinking about winter holidays during the summer. Maybe it's because I have a lot more time to create during the summer months.

IMG_5966

Some of my Angel sisters and I are doing a monthly Christmas/holiday card challenge. We basically commit to creating a certain number of cards over a period of time so that we aren't up all hours of the night two days before Christmas finishing up cards that we swore would have finished by Halloween. LOL I'm already up all hours of the night so I figured I'd get a head start.

IMG_5979

I'm not sure If I'll be sending these out because I only have four. I like to make all my holiday cards the same so that I can remember what I made each year LOL. So I may just add these to my ETSY store. I have had this patterned paper forever and finally got around to using it. I'm working on putting a serious dent in my stash. This time next year we may be relocating and I don't want to move with 45lbs of. Nor do I wish to pack it, and besides if I use what I have it just means I'll have more room for newer stuff... I mean I'll just have more room :)

Color Challenge #8

This weeks challenge was to create a card using the following colors

Blue, Green, Orange, Brown, & White

Cc08

Doesn't this set just scream "Summer?" All stamps used are from TAC. The main images are from T-2944 Spring Time. For the grass I used the grass image from the retired stamp set Happy Bug Day (sorry I can't recall the item #). The butterflies are from T-2727 Wild for You. "Enjoy" is from T- 2751 Everyday Events and the other sentiment words are from T-1163 Soft Spoken

Cc08c

I sponged the "sky" using a light blue dye ink, and added stickles to the butterflies. Some of the grass and the tree leaves have been cut out and mounted using foam tape. TFL!
