Happy Saturday! Not too much going on here today. We're just taking it easy & hanging out. I wanted to share these petite thank you cards with you all. They measure 3.5x 2.5 inches, a size I don't work with often but they were fun to make! I think I'm going to whip a bunch this size using some of those random sized patterned paper strips that I have laying around. :)

PaperTrey Ink, The Angel Company, & Basic Grey = happiness :) I love these companies. They always offer something that inspires me to create. This patterned paper makes me really happy. We recently moved further north (still in Maryland) so we're expecting a lot more snow this year :) This paper is going to be perfect for "snowy day" layouts.

Recently I received a request for a set of masculine birthday cards. Handmade versions can be a challenge for many, myself included! But you can whip some up in no time using a sketch, a few great sheets of coordinating patterned papers, a bold sentiment stamp, and a metal embellishment or two. Basic Grey and Scenic Route are two of my all time favorite manufacturers for masculine prints! I hope this card inspires you to create your own man-ly cards.

I soooo love this stamp set by PTI. It's been on my wish list for a long time. I used SU's Pumpkin Pie & Really Rust inks to give the flower an earthy fall feel. Hope you're having a great day!

I usually send very few Thanksgiving cards but I try to make one or two each year. TAC is having a sale on their paper collections so I ordered Rustic Chic. This collections has been around for awhile but I've never ordered it. After seeing some awesome creations using it I decided to finally order some.
I really bought it to create a layout of my son wearing one of his cowboy hats his father picked up for him in Texas while there on a business trip. But I thought this paper would also make some great fall cards too!

We had another color challenge hosted by Laurie over at the Paper Wings website today. I actually created a card on the day the challenge was posted which is unheard of! LOL She challenged us to use the colors Orange, Black, & White.
I pulled out an image & sentiment from a TAC retired stamp called
Trick or Treat (2005/2006 catty) and paired it with an image from the Friendship Strips stamp set. I colored the image using Copic markers, added some ribbon, and some foam tape for a little added dimension.

Well technically I guess I did... the sentiment is from a retired set called Chicken Scratch but I also used TWO new sets :) Well new only because I've haven't shared a creation on my blog using them. The butterfly is from a set called Wishing Happiness and the stripes on the bottom of the card base is an image from Friendships Strips.

Usually I start making holiday cards during this summer months but this past summer I was preoccupied with moving that I made very few. So this year since I'm getting a late start I'm looking for quick & easy designs that can be whipped up in no time. This card certainly falls into that category!

Fall has reared it's head here in Maryland. I really love this time of year! I pulled out a retired TAC set called Pressed Petals to create this card. I stamped the card base using Versamark ink and chose a few "fall-ish" colors for the main image. I added stitching along the top of the focal image to add some texture, and tied some ribbon around the card base.

I missed YOU :) Man it's been awhile since I had a chance to create. Our move went well! We're still unpacking and getting things settled but things are going great!
I really wanted to create something today so I pulled out this image I colored a few weeks ago before I boxed up my scrap stuff. It feels good to be back in the swing of things :)

I paired a new owl image form Be Square with some older sentiments. To create the background I stamped the "Hoot" sentiment using Versamark ink. Then I used Prismacolor Colored pencils and baby oil to color the image. Normally I use OMS but I heard that you can achieve similar results using the baby oil. I really like the results and will use baby oil more often!
