Another Color Combo Challenge

IMG_1179

This weeks color challenge over at Paperwings:  Ivory, Dark Green, Dark Orange, Dark Brown. For this card I used my script background stamp to "grunge" up the orange cardstock a bit. I think the pumpkin needs some shading or something I'm not sure but at least it's festive :)

Supplies:

Paper: Bazzill Cardstock & Ultrasmooth Ivory

Stamps: TAC: Script Background & Give Thanks

Color Medium: Prismacolor colored pencils, odorless mineral spirits, Palette Noir & Versmark Ink,

Embellies: Mini antique gold brads

Other: Oval & scalloped oval nesties

Made in Minutes Monday: You warm my heart

IMG_0716

I really love the warm colors of this paper collection. This card features patterned paper from the Penelope paper collection by The Angel Company.

I stamped the sentiment on a tag that is included with the paper collection and then inked the edges with black ink. I also inked the edges of the card base using black ink. Then I matted a piece of green patterned paper onto the striped patterned paper and distressed the edge of the striped paper.

I added some piercing to that pattered paper mat, added a flower and mini brad to the tag and adhered it to the pattered paper mat using foam tape to give the card a little depth. Then I adhered it to the card base.

Blessings to you

IMG_0511

If you've been a reader of my blog for awhile you already know that I love stamp sets that can be used in lot's of different ways... those  "for every occassion" type stamp sets. This one was calling my name!!

This is the first card I made using this set. I still need to work on the coloring but it was a fun card to create and the best part is that I can use this same basic sketch and design for the other images in the set too if I needed a card in a hurry!

Supplies

Stamps: TAC's Celebrate the Seasons & Tag Tidbits

Made In Minutes Monday: Hanging out with Grandpa

August project #1

I was asked by a client to help her create a quick gift album with scrapbook pages that can be easily duplicated. This is one I came up with which is super quick and easy and keeps the focus on the photo and/or story.

Even though this is an 8x8 layout it can easily be adapted for smaller or larger layouts. You can also adjust the measurements to create a card using the same layout.

This layout features products from one of the newest paper collection & accessory sets introduced in The Angel Company's Fall & Winter catalog. Also featured is a photo of Timothy and his grandfather. For some reason I have very few photos of the both of them. I need to take more!

Thanks for looking!

Greatest Gift...

Cap444

This is one of my favorite quotes. This particular sentiment is from Papertrey ink's Father Knows best stamp set. It truly is such a versatile sentiment!

For some reason my scanner & camera does not pick up the true color of the patterned paper. It's actually a little lighter IRL.

Img_5158_2

I discovered that I like the brown ink better than black with this patterned paper. I used Palette ink "Cognac" to stamp the sentiment. The image stamped behind the sentiment is from The Angel Company's Floral Dingbat set (item # T-2744) ... another versatile stamp set. I like versatile... could you tell?? LOL

Oops...

I meant to scheduled this post for May 1st but I accidently selected June 1st! LOL It does make sense after all to post Mother's Day cards before Father's Day!

Mom_3

These are a few Mother's Day cards for my Moms and sisters.

Mom1_2

These cards came together really quickly! This PaperTrey Ink patterned paper made it very easy!

Mom2

I'm not sure I like the black ink, but at least they are finished!

Mom3

I also used the Mother's Day sentiment from The Angel Company's "Trendy Greetings" stamp set, PTI's White cardstock, Aqua Mist cardstock, ink, & ribbon, along with Palette Noir.

Easter Goodie box template

Hi All... just wanted to share this link. Sorry I thought I already did but that was on my TAC blog. Anyway... I never did get around to creating my own template for the treat box I shared a few posts down. Vicky created a terrific tutorial that she shared at Splitcoast Stampers...

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/tiny_treat_basket/

My box is pretty similar except I used a larger sheet of cardstock... 8x8 and adjusted the patterned paper pieces accordingly. The handle was created using a strip of cardstock measuring 1.5 in.x 12 in. and was attached using two two regular sized brads. You could use mini brads if the contents of your box is very light weight but I prefer the standard sized ones. HTH!

Easter goodies

  Img_4596_4

I wanted to create a little basket for DS that was Springy but not overly cute for my "Macho" son so this is what I came up with.  I used my paper crimper to create the "grass," a CuttleBug tag, and Tag Tid bits for the sentiment. I'm working on a template but probably won't get it posted until Sat. at the earliest. This will be something new I don't think I've ever created a template before!

Img_4590

My new fave thing?... polka dots. This sheet of patterned paper is from the Gentle Beginnings paper pack by The Angel Company. I just wish there were more than one sheet of each color in each paper pack.  I also love Turquoise and Lavender together, you'll probably be seeing more of this color combo.

Img_4603

I'll be adding this card & a few similar to it to my Etsy Store  Wednesday.

Thanks for looking!

Penguin Valentine

Img_4401_3

Isn't this little guy adorable? Too bad my DS has grown out of all things cute.  Otherwise he'd be taking these to school for Valentine's Day. I'm sure he'll ask for Star Wars, Spiderman, or Transformers Valentine's this year.

Supplies:

Stamps: Wild for you, Wishing you,  Mini Occasions   Patterned Paper: MME

Cardstock: TAC & DCWV     Ink:  Palette   white embossing powder     Ribbon: Offray

I don't like having my picture taken

This really isn't a suprise to most people who know me. I'm usually the one behind the camera snapping away. But I've gotta be better about that. One day Timothy will ask why he doesn't have pictures of his mother... LOL. These were taken of us by my DH last fall one day after school. Normally his pictures turn out blurry but I think he did a great job!

Supplies:

Crate Paper "Zoom Collection," Bazzill cardstock & bitty blossom, Making Memories date stamp, & a button.

Sorry...

Img_3186_4

After feeling pretty crappy last week and falling behind with my school work I just didn't get a chance to create anything. I thought having the blog schedule would help me add more creative time to my week...now I'm not so sure! So I'm going to rethink that one...

You can however subscribe to my blog and receive e-mail updates whenever I update my blog if you're interested. Just look for the subscribe link on the upper left hand corner of this page below my photo.

I do have a card to share with you today :) I love tiny stamps because they can be used in so many different ways. One of my favorite ways to use smaller stamps is to create a background print. It's like having a supply of patterned paper that you NEVER run out of :)

I stamped the skull & tiny spiders, by TAC using Palette Noir ink repeatedly over the top portion of the cardstock, SU Pumpkin Pie. I tied a ribbon, from Michaels,  around the cardstock sheet, stamped the sentiment... by Stampendous below it and then adhered it to a black cardstock base.

Oh... also, please pray for all the people affected by the California wild fires. They have been weighing heavy on my heart these last two weeks. I'm from San Diego. My father, brother, and friends still live there. Luckily their homes were spared, but so many were not as fortunate.

TAC Swap

I created these cards for a client and had some extra paper left over so I made a few more for a TAC card swap. The patterned paper is by MME and the sentiment is from TAC's Sweet Sayings set. I tried scanning these cards, I tried photographing them but I still couldn't get the colors just right. The last photo shows the actual colors.
