Color Challenge #7

 SmileyCentral.com

Morning All!... ok well it was morning when I started typing this post. Typepad is being finicky today.

This weeks challenge is to create something using the following color combo...

CC07 choices

Here's my card

Colorc1

The butterfly image is from a retired L.E. set by TAC. I stamped it using black ink and then heat embossed it. I used red, yellow, and orange markers along with a blender pen to color it. I then stamped the sentiment from Inspirational Sayings using orange ink. And to give it a little extra something I sponged the edges using yellow ink first and then repeated the process using red ink.

Thanks for looking!

Color Challenge # 6

* I'm not sure what happened to the resolution of the photos, but if you click on them they won't appear blurry. Thanks for looking! :)

Cc06b

Here's my card for this week. Our challenge was to create something using only the colors purple, green, & white. The only exception is that we could stamp our image using black ink.

Cc06a

I also used a large circle from the Circle Sampler stamp set stamp set and stamped it using Palette Giverny Green. I love this green! I then matted the butterfly image to a scallop circle I cut from a light purple cardstock.

I used a 4x4 light purple cardstock for the card base and adhered to it a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch piece of green cardstock. I cut a smaller piece of patterned paper from The Angel Company's' Gentle Beginnings paper pack.

Then I added foam tape to the back of the scallop and adhered it to the front of the card.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Greatest Gift...

Cap444

This is one of my favorite quotes. This particular sentiment is from Papertrey ink's Father Knows best stamp set. It truly is such a versatile sentiment!

For some reason my scanner & camera does not pick up the true color of the patterned paper. It's actually a little lighter IRL.

Img_5158_2

I discovered that I like the brown ink better than black with this patterned paper. I used Palette ink "Cognac" to stamp the sentiment. The image stamped behind the sentiment is from The Angel Company's Floral Dingbat set (item # T-2744) ... another versatile stamp set. I like versatile... could you tell?? LOL

Oops...

I meant to scheduled this post for May 1st but I accidently selected June 1st! LOL It does make sense after all to post Mother's Day cards before Father's Day!

Mom_3

These are a few Mother's Day cards for my Moms and sisters.

Mom1_2

These cards came together really quickly! This PaperTrey Ink patterned paper made it very easy!

Mom2

I'm not sure I like the black ink, but at least they are finished!

Mom3

I also used the Mother's Day sentiment from The Angel Company's "Trendy Greetings" stamp set, PTI's White cardstock, Aqua Mist cardstock, ink, & ribbon, along with Palette Noir.

Happy National Scrapbook Day

Just wanted to share a layout with you all. This one measures 8x8...

Tim_in_myrtle_beach_2

The patterned paper is by The Angel Company from a collection called "Hip-Hop." It's a great collection for those boy and summer themed pages & cards. I also used circle stamps from TAC from a set called Circle Sampler.

Have a SCRAPPY day!!!  :)

Pick a sentiment...

Here's a Father's Day version of this card... Birthday Tree

I forgot to mention... that patterned paper is from Basic Grey's new Archaic collection.

Father Knows Best...

This is probably one of my top 3 fave sets from PTI. Masculine cards are always challenging for me. I prefer "Manly" cards... no ribbon, maybe a few brads or eyelets, but mostly just clean & simple... straight to the point.

Img_5056

My DH loves the cards I make, but he's not really one to fawn over them time and time again like I do scrapbooks! LOL So I try to keep them pretty basic but still thoughtful KWIM? That's why I love this set! Even though I think Nichole had Father's Day in mind when she designed it, it's such a versatile set! Think birthdays, summer, fall, sympathy, ect!!

A variation...

Img_4883

on my It's a Popsicle, Ice cream, and cupcake birthday card. I think I like this one better! I used one of TAC's current GWP stamps... free with a $30 purchase. Sometimes those free stamps are the ones I reach for most often! LOL

Froggy Birthday

Img_4869

Don't you just love google eyes? I can't seem to create boyish cards without them. That little froggy is a part of a Limited Edition Set by TAC... available until May 5th. for only $2.95 with a $30 purchase. You can view the set in it's entirety along with the other 3 LE sets here http://www.theangelcompany.net/Promos_AprilLE08.html

Img_4874

I also used a sentiment from TAC's "ordinary greetings" set, palette ink, Papertrey Ink & DCWV cardstock, and TAC patterned paper.

It's a Popsicles, Ice Cream, and Cupcake Birthday

Img_4815

I just love Basic Grey... seriously there are two paper lines I'm most loyal to because they always have great designs and they always offer collections that are great for masculine & boy pages... Basic Grey & Scenic Route. This card features patterned paper from Basic Grey's new Cupcake collection. Love it, love it, love it! :)

Img_4804

I added glossy accents to the popsicles & ice cream cones and stickles to the cupcake cherries. The paper is great all on it's own but those two simple accents add so much to the card.

This is my Papertrey Ink version..

of the baby bunny card I shared the other day. I used PTI's Sweet Blush cardstock, ink & ribbon... this is such a pretty pink color perfect for baby or feminine cards.

Baby_girl_bunny

I also used a Nestabilities rectangle to create the mat for the focal image. I used DCWV pink #3 textured cardstock. It's a shade or two darker than sweet blush... a perfect accent color :)

Don't you love it when...

you buy something for a specific purpose and later find out that you actually can use it in other ways? I do!! TAC's "I Love Easter" set has done that for me.

Img_4515

I originally purchased it to create easter cards but this little bunny with the ballons makes the perfect baby card. I'm thinking it would be a great birthday card too!!

cardstock: TAC & Bazzill

Ribbon: Mike's

Other: Palette & versamagic ink, Prismacolor colored pencils, gamsol, Tombow gray marker, white fun flock, making memories safety pin.

One more Easter Card...

Easter_2

I created this card for a card swap. The image is by TAC, Bazzill & DCWV cardstocks, easter egg embossed paper... I can't recall who the manufacturer is. I also added stickles to the flowers, Prima Flower, & a MM mini brad. I've had that embossed paper FOREVER! It's always a great feeling to finally use something you've been hoarding  :)

Easter Goodie box template

Hi All... just wanted to share this link. Sorry I thought I already did but that was on my TAC blog. Anyway... I never did get around to creating my own template for the treat box I shared a few posts down. Vicky created a terrific tutorial that she shared at Splitcoast Stampers...

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/tiny_treat_basket/

My box is pretty similar except I used a larger sheet of cardstock... 8x8 and adjusted the patterned paper pieces accordingly. The handle was created using a strip of cardstock measuring 1.5 in.x 12 in. and was attached using two two regular sized brads. You could use mini brads if the contents of your box is very light weight but I prefer the standard sized ones. HTH!
