THRILLED :)

Catty

My layout is featured on page 61 of the 2009-2010 Angel Company catalog! I am so excited that it was chosen because I wasn't going to send it in. The designers of previous catalogs have been AMAZING and my style is very clean & simple so I just wasn't sure if it would be too simple. Apparently it wasn't scuba diving in Yongala

Today is the first day we can begin placing orders from the new catty. If you need a catty let me know I'd be happy to send you one. They will be $5 which includes shipping and a $5 off coupon when you place an order totalling $30 or more.

It's Monday...

and it's almost 10am here. I don't feel like doing anything today! DH & I stayed up way too late watching movies last night! Timothy is with his grandparents for a couple of days so we had a chance to watch "grown folks" movies for a change! One of the movies we watched was Tyler Perry's Why did I get Married. It was funny & sad but a great movie about relationships and expectations. We enjoyed it!

I may just curl up with a book and read for awhile until I get motivated to do something else! Lately I've been reading a lot of Karen Kingsbury novels  It's so hard to put them down! LOL I don't read a lot of Christian fiction but the characters in her novels seems so realistic... more In touch with society and life's challenges today. I'm always looking for something great to read, usually fiction, so if you have any suggestions please share :)

So I guess I should share a card with you all huh? LOL This card I created a couple of weeks ago for a challenge over at Paper Wings I actually created this card with someone specific in mind, and I don't do that often so it was fun! I usually like to create cards to have on hand for an occasion but DS's friend was having a b-day party and I didn't have any girly cards left. I thought this image would make a cute card for her. This little girl is from a TAC set called Ice Cream.

I used DCWV cardstock and a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then used a sanding block to expose the white core on the background. The image was colored using Prismacolor colored pencils & gamsol and copic markers. Thanks for looking! :)

Happy Father's Day!

It's time for another Angel Art Blog Hop! This month's theme is Father's Day so if you haven't created your Father's Day cards yet you'll find plenty of inspiration here!

IMG_3306

This card was so quick & easy to make I think I'm going to use this same layout to create a few all occasions cards for my stash. I used TAC's Penelope patterned paper collection for this card. It's not your traditional Father's Day Card color scheme but I like it! :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Trendy Greetings
Paper: Penelope patterned paper collection & kraft cardstock
Other: Black & Brown ink, brown button from my stash, & white scrappers floss

I created this card a couple of months ago for a limited supply challenge. We were supposed to use a circle stamp, a button, & ribbon. I used one of the circle stamps from TAC's Circle Sampler to create the background paper.

I also used scrappers floss on the button & a nestabilities label diecut. One of my faves :)

Thanks for looking!

Supplies:

Made in Minutes Monday: Tweet

IMG_3105

Hope you had a great weekend! It was pretty quiet and relaxing here. :)

Lately I've been creating a lot of bright and colorful cards. I'm just drawn to those colors, they make me happy! But today I decided to try a different color scheme so I pulled out TAC's Hemingway patterned paper collection and drew inspiration from it.

The bird cage is from a set called "Bird Cage" from TAC LOL. I highlighted the cage using a blue green Copic marker to pull the blueish color from the patterned paper. I used a brown Copic marker to finish the cage and then inked the edges of the cardstock using brown ink. Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
Paper: TAC's Hemingway patterned paper, white & green cardstock
Stamp: Bird Cage
Other: Black & Brown ink, Copic markers, Ribbon, white scrappers floss, button

A Color Challenge

IMG_3062

It seems strange to not have a sentiment on the front of this card LOL I would say about 90% of all the cards I create have one on the front but I was short on time when I created this card. We had a color combo challenge over at PW's, this week's combo is pink, brown, & white. Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
Paper: TAC's Catelynne patterned paper & TAC's US white & DCWV cardstocks
Stamp: Sweet Thing
Other: Black ink, Copic markers, ribbon, Nesties rectangle dies, & Friskars scallop punch
